March for a Culture of Peace

September 27, 2014 @ 3:00 pm
September 28, 2014 @ 2:45 pm

Wilmington is, sadly, a violent place. What can we do about it?
Our neighborhoods, our city, need to be safe and secure. It takes a whole community to build a culture of peace. It is time for us to stand up, join together and take action as one voice. Join us as we march to show our support, concern, and love for those families and neighborhoods in Wilmington whose lives have been and are being devastated by gun violence.

Saturday, September 27, 2014 from 3-4:30 pm

Meet at Brandywine Park (18th & Baynard) at 2:45pm.

Bring signs and/or banners. Interested in marching with the ACLU? Email rgirten@aclu-de.org to coordinate.

At the end of the march, a Call to Action rally will be held at Brown-Burton Winchester Park (E. 25th & Pine). For the route and speakers, click here.

Organized by Pacem in Terris, First Unitarian Church Social Justice Forum, and Wilmington Peacekeepers. This march is part of Campaign Nonviolence Week, where people in all 50 states are participating in a call for nonviolence in our everyday lives.
