We believe that it is time to shift our focus and put victims’ families first.
When murder happens, it is the family of the victim that suffers the most and the longest, yet our system focuses almost exclusively on the murderer.
Are you a family member of a murder victim against the death penalty? Use your voice and sign this letter in support of repeal.
A growing number of murder victims’ families are choosing to share their most personal and painful stories of loss to speak out against death penalty. For them, the unthinkable has happened, they have lost a loved one. They are now speaking out to say that the death penalty does not help them.
These are the families’ stories.

Many family members who have lost a loved one to murder are working to repeal the death penalty because they do not think we should answer violence with more violence and that a sentence of true life in prison is an appropriate punishment. If you have lost a loved one to murder and you would like to join the repeal movement please sign the Murder Victims’ Families sign-on letter or email us!
