On February 10, Staff Attorney Ryan Tack-Hooper joined members of the Islamic Society of Delaware and the staff of Jewish Family Services (JFS) at the airport to welcome Delaware’s first Syrian refugee family—a couple and their infant daughter.

In the wake of Donald Trump’s Executive Order barring all refugees from entry into the United States, Ryan has worked with JFS, Delaware’s refugee resettlement agency, to keep JFS updated on the latest developments in the legal challenges to the ban. A court order out of Washington State allowed this Syrian family to come to America.

Ryan is also assisting Attorney General Matt Denn’s team investigating the injuries that Delaware has experienced as a result of President Trump’s executive order, so that Delaware’s harms can be considered in the Washington court action.
