Delaware Concerned Residents for Environmental Justice Forum

October 2, 2014 @ 7:30 pm

A report recently released through the Environmental Justice and Health Alliance for Chemical Policy Reform collective shows more than 134 million Americans live in the danger zones around 3433 facilities in several common industries that store or use highly hazardous chemicals. In a typical year, the US Chemical Safety Board screens more than 250 high consequence chemical incidents involving death, injury, evacuation, or serious environmental or property damage—and these are only the very worst incidents.

Delawareans are asked to call on Senators Carper and Coons to take a position to protect workers and communities. At the moment, we know for sure that Senator Carper is opposed to safe alternatives. Delaware can make or break this issue.

The comment period for accidental release prevention requirements risk management programs under the Clean Air Act with the EPA is now open. The comment period ends October 29, 2014. Attend the meeting (and bring a friend or neighbor) to understand what we need to do.

Meeting features guest speakers Richard Moore and Michele Roberts. RSVP required by September 25, 2014. Email Cat or call 302-331-6402.
