Stage of Discovery: Songs of the Civil Rights Movement

January 15, 2015 @ 9:30 am

Leaders of the Civil Right Movement understood that hours of political speeches may not inspire people to action but a 3-minute song can. In this program, students get to explore the issues of racial equality and justice in America during the 1950s and 1960s through song.

TAHIRA educates, entertains, and inspires children with her "Musical-ology” – a heapin' of the spoken word, a fistful of soul-stirring vocals, flavored with rhythmic percussion for good measure.

Recommended for grades K-5.
