Social Media Policy

As a non-governmental organization, and in the interest of promoting a safe online environment, the ACLU of Delaware reserves the right to remove comments, messages, images, or videos that violate our guidelines, including:

  • Advertisements, promotions, or solicitations of a commercial product or service.
  • Spam, i.e. unnecessarily repetitive content/interactions.
  • Harassment—including but not limited to other commenters, ACLU-DE staff, clients, and volunteers, and groups of people—on the basis of race, nationality, ethnicity, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, or disability
  • Threatening or suggesting violence or harm, directly or indirectly, to another person.
  • Confidential, personally identifying, or private information as defined by state law.
  • Unlawful obscenity.

ACLU-DE also reserves the right to temporarily or permanently block users that do not follow these guidelines. Suspected bot accounts will also be blocked. Attachments of graphic images and videos included in messages will be deleted for the safety of our social media team.

We do not take intake or legal requests through social media comments or messages. Please direct legal matters to our online form to file a complaint and to ensure confidentiality.
