Now accepting nominations for the 2022 Kandler Awards!

For over three decades, the Kandler Awards have honored the indomitable spirit of former ACLU of Delaware President Gerry Kandler. The Kandler Award recognizes those members of the community who, like Mr. Kandler, represent the highest commitment to ensuring the civil rights and liberties of all Delawareans.

Please consider nominating someone you believe has “made an indelible mark on our community as an advocate and defender of civil liberties” for the 2022 Kandler Awards.

We’d like to give the opportunity for recognition to both established and up-and-coming leaders in the fight for civil liberties. Please nominate anyone who embodies the spirit of our work for a Kandler award this year.

Submissions should include the candidate’s name, biography including current location in DE, and a brief explanation of why the candidate should be considered. All nominations should be submitted to Angela Harris, aharris@aclu-de.org, by Wednesday, May 18th.

Nominations are open to the public.

We look forward to reading about all of the local heroes in your life and choosing two exemplary Delawareans to honor at this year's event.
