For over three decades, the Kandler Award has honored the indomitable spirit of former ACLU of Delaware President Gerry Kandler. The Kandler Award recognizes those members of the community who, like Mr. Kandler, represent the highest commitment to ensuring the civil rights and liberties of all Delawareans.
Do you know a Delawarean who has made an indelible mark on your community as an advocate and defender of civil liberties? Let us know by nominating them for the 36th Annual Kandler Awards, which will be presented virtually on Wednesday, October 20.
Submit your nomination(s) by sending an email to Angela Harris at aharris@aclu-de.org. Please include the candidate's name, a one or two sentence biography, and a brief explanation of why the candidate should be considered. Nominations are open to the public. The deadline for nominations is 5:00 p.m., Friday, April 23.
We look forward to reading about all of the local heroes in your life and choosing two exemplary Delawareans to honor at this year's event.
