Philadelphia Conference Historic Marker Dedication

The City of Philadelphia and Equality Forum cordially invite you to the dedication of an official City of Philadelphia Historical Marker commemorating the Philadelphia Conference.

The marker designates where 300 activists from around the nation, galvanized by the assassination of Harvey Milk, met in February 1979 to organize the National March on Washington for Lesbian and Gay Rights. The seminal 100,000-person demonstration, which took place on October 14, 1979, identified a national civil rights movement.
