Led by Dr. James E. Martin, UD professor emeritus of Black American Studies, this discussion will open with a viewing of the 2007 documentary, ‘A Dream Deferred: Remembering the 1968 Occupation.'

This event is part of the 2015 Pacem in Terris Winter Film & Discussion Series. The topic is mass incarceration and the New Jim Crow. The evening will feature a screening of the documentary Broken on All Sides.

James E. Newton, University of Delaware professor emeritus of Black American Studies, will provide an examination of Dr. King’s life, exploring his early years growing up in segregated Atlanta to his later years as a Nobel Peace Prize winner.
