Our Letter to Public Officials: First Amendment Rights & Social Media

We receive complaints from people across the state after being blocked from posting, tweeting, or commenting on social media accounts maintained by our state's public officials. On May 23, we sent the following letter to the General Assembly advising all legislators to adopt social media policies that maintain everyone's First Amendment rights online.

Our Letter Demanding DSU Enact Meaningful Reforms Against Sexual Assault NOW

Earlier this year, Delaware State University students protested after receiving news of yet another case of sexual assault on campus—the fifth since the school year began. Students said that campus officials and law enforcement had a slow and ineffective response to reports of assault. Many students expressed this issue was part of a much larger problem with campus police. In response to the students’ protest, university officials agreed to create a Safe Space Coalition to address the systemic issues of how sexual assault and harassment is addressed at DSU.

Our Letter Urging Delaware State University Officials to Rescind Non-Disclosure Agreements

Delaware State University President, Dr. Tony Allen, issued a statement this evening rescinding the decision to require DSU students to sign confidentiality agreements in order to participte in the newly formed Safe Space Coalition.
