Attending Sunshine Fest will help you better understand FOIA and the way it makes a difference in our lives every day. FOIA is for everyone, not just big agencies and organizations. Teachers, parents, students — all community members have a right to know what their government is doing, as well as how and why they’re doing it.
You’ll learn from and network with other freedom of information advocates from all disciplines: journalists, policy makers, historians, librarians, researchers, nonprofits, and all others who care about government transparency. Then you’ll come home armed with some of the important tools and strategies to advocate for a more transparent government here in Delaware.
Contest Rules & How To Enter:
To be eligible to win, you must be at least 18 years old and a resident of Delaware. There are 3 different ways to apply:
1) Comment on one of our social media channels (Instagram, Bluesky, Threads) using #SunshineWeek and tell us why you value government transparency.
2) Register to attend our free 3/18 virtual event: Restricting Access to the "I" in FOIA & submit a question you have about Delaware’s Freedom of Information Act.
3) Email [email protected] with the subject line “Sunshine Week Delaware” and tell us which session you most want to attend at Sunshine Fest.
Deadline: February 15, 2026
Entries are accepted until Sunday, February 15. A winner will be selected and notified on Monday, February 16, 2026, and must confirm participation within 72 hours of notification.
