Privacy & Technology

The ACLU of Delaware works to expand the right to privacy, increase the control individuals have over their personal information, and ensure civil liberties are enhanced rather than compromised by technological innovation.

Americans should not have to choose between using new technologies and protecting their civil liberties.

Yet our constitutional protections are not keeping pace with advances in technology. Our “digital footprint” — our communications, whereabouts, online searches, purchases — is growing constantly and can now be tracked by the government and corporations in ways that were once unthinkable.

To ensure our rights and civil liberties aren’t rendered obsolete, the ACLU of Delaware works to protect digital privacy, defend free speech on the internet, ensure Net Neutrality, and push back against censorship and government surveillance.
