The ACLU is helping Gavin Grimm fight discriminatory policies against transgender people in Virginia. This comes after the U.S. Department of Justice said public schools are no longer obligated to allow transgender students to use the restroom that fits their gender identity.

From the Executive Director's Notes in the Fall 2015 issue of Connection, read a discussion of the structural racism exemplified in Delaware's public school system.

The ACLU-DE board has identified three overarching strategic priorities for the next 3-5 years: equal access to quality education for all, criminal justice reform and an open and vibrant democracy.

Both New Castle County Council and Wilmington City Council passed resolutions supporting the Coalition and asking that school districts across the state implement the Coalition's recommendations. Read more about the Coalition here.

The Stay in School Project, which helps minimize "school push out" is now in its third year, and we are looking to create new workshops for adults.
