Delaware Voting Rights Coalition Issues Letter in Opposition to Proposed Legislation Granting Artificial Entities Right to Vote

The Delaware Voting Rights Coalition has issued a letter to the Delaware House, urging members to vote NO to on HS 1 for HB 121, legislation that allows for artificial entities - LLCs, corporations, and trusts - to vote in elections in Seaford, regardless of whether or not the business owner resides in Seaford.

Remembering Gil Sloan (1928-2023)

With heavy hearts, we remember the accomplishments of Gilbert “Gil” Sloan, the last of the ACLU of Delaware founders. Preceded by wife and fellow founder Sonia Schorr Sloan, Gil died on May 25, 2023 following a lifetime of achievements. He was 94 years old.

Our Letter Demanding DSU Enact Meaningful Reforms Against Sexual Assault NOW

Earlier this year, Delaware State University students protested after receiving news of yet another case of sexual assault on campus—the fifth since the school year began. Students said that campus officials and law enforcement had a slow and ineffective response to reports of assault. Many students expressed this issue was part of a much larger problem with campus police. In response to the students’ protest, university officials agreed to create a Safe Space Coalition to address the systemic issues of how sexual assault and harassment is addressed at DSU.
