After graduating from Bucknell University, Stuart went to work at the ACLU of DC in 1982, and quickly rose through the ranks of that organization. In 1986, he became the executive director of the ACLU of Maryland, where he dramatically grew the state affiliate’s budget and staff. He left the ACLU in 1996, and has served as the president and CEO of the Delaware Community Foundation since 2016. In his role at the Delaware Community Foundation, Stuart remains one of our close companions.
