The first leg of the 152nd General Assembly came to an end on June 30. Since January, advocates have been working hard on issues like criminal legal reform and education equity. There is still plenty of work to be done, and many unfulfilled promises left to follow up on.
That’s why the ACLU of Delaware Smart Justice Ambassadors are hosting “We Demand: The People’s Rally” this Saturday, July 22 at 12 p.m. at the Legislative Mall in Dover. This rally is held in partnership with statewide advocacy organizations to ensure elected officials remain committed to priority issues including, but not limited to:
- True transparency and accountability in policing;
- Closing the education funding gap; and
- Probation reform focused on rehabilitation instead of punishment.
We need lawmakers who are committed to creating a more equitable and safe home for all Delawareans. Join us this Saturday to demand meaningful action throughout the rest of the year and into the 2024 legislative session.
